If you have an Issen VM on the Korone node you probably noticed some downtime earlier in the month. This is because the battery in the RAID controller is beginning to fail, and, well, due to being an older server there are no new OEM batteries being manufactured.
The data is safe, but the RAID is prone to going down and written data being corrupted due to the array being suddenly disconnected. The other Issen node, Okayu, is still fine, so we upgraded the hardware on that node and are currently migrating the Korone VMs to Okayu.
Korone and the VMs are still up but user control is currently disabled to prevent interference with the migration process. Every VM will be taken down one-by-one and brought back up after being moved to Okayu. Estimated downtime for each VM is about 3-4 hours.
All Issen VMs will receive 3 days added to their next renewal date, and a RAM bump from 2.5GiB to 4, including Okayu-native VMs because the increased iowait from the migration may have impacted performance.
Issues with old hardware should go away once we migrate all VMs to new (DDR4!) servers, hopefully later this month.
